I Lead A Team

A born leader, are you one of those people who naturally have leadership skills? Or are you the type to sharpen your leadership skills along the way.

Well for me, it would be the latter.

Last week, I had the opportunity to lead a team in charge of selling Chicken Rice at our church. Okay, I was a co-leader with another friend of mine.

It has been a while since I lead anything, much less a cooking team. I think the last time I had done such thing was back in Uni life with my church in Sarawak.

I have forgotten how tiring it was, from prepping the ingredients to cooking it to selling it the next day. By the end of the events, my legs especially my feet's sole was throbbing with pain.

Things I learn along the way:
1. You gotta communicate well. As I was not the only person in charge, I had to always communicate with my partner and not leave her in the dark at all times
2. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP. Wish someone emphasize this point on me, cause having one or two different opinions had proven to be useful especially when I and my partner encounter an issue.
3. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING. SEE POINT NUMBER TWO. You're a leader for a reason. One of your tasks is to select people to do numerous tasks to make that event successful.

IN CONCLUSION, It's tiring to be a leader, but people choose you for a reason. Hang in there and keep on hustling.
